Melded

Melded is a modular tool mod that adds 3 part tool customization with a single crafting station being used for everything, including material info.

Melded is also designed for modification through data packs and addons, with examples for both in the Discord provided. Datapacks can add materials, recipes, challenge tabs, mob tool replacements, material restrictions, and edit any of the existing materials.

By default vanilla tool recipes are disabled, craft a melding table to make your first tools and to check the challenge menu (which can also be bound to a hotkey if you prefer)

Currently the modular tool selection includes

• Swords
• Spears
• Pickaxes
• Axes
• Shovels
• Hoes
• Mattocks
• Trowels

Mattocks are a new tool that function as both a shovel and an axe, they start as fast as the real thing, but repeated use makes mining and attacking with them slower.

Trowels are a new tool that can be used for building quickly, swapping blocks easily, bridging, and correcting mistakes.

All new tools can be unlocked through the challenge menu.

Tool Info

Tools are assembled with a head, handle, and an optional special material. Every material provides a unique modifier that can be increased in level by using multiple of the same part.

Clicking the tabs next to any part slot shows details on each material for that part, clicking on a material in the material list will autofill the amount needed for that part.

Materials are separated into tiers for each tool type, these can be progressed through the challenge menu

Materials placed in the special slot generally apply a higher modifier level, special materials can be removed in a melding table by inserting shears into the special slot.

Filling the special slot on your tool halves enchantment effectiveness on that tool, this allows enchantments to still work with Melded tools but not overshadow modifier effects.

Hope this mod is as enjoyable to everyone as it has been for me in playtesting.

There are plans to update Melded with more vanilla tools in the future, alongside additional new modifiers and completely unique tools
