Pixelmon: CC's Adjustments

⭐ So what does it do? ?
This one's a grab bag. Twelve separate tweaks, each one solving something that annoyed me while playing Pixelmon. None of them are flashy on their own, but together they smooth out a lot of rough edges in my opinion.
Every feature has its own on/off switch in the config, so if you only want two of the twelve, just turn the rest off. Nothing here forces itself on you.
Singleplayer or server-side, works either way.
⭐ NEW UPDATE! 9.3.16.x.2 - 9.3.16.x.5!⭐
[All new updates are configurable, as always.]
9.3.16.x.2+
- Tweaked village chest loot to be more fair and less 'OP', just rebalancing. See the full details of this feature further down the description.
- Any ball types that are crafted using 'iron bases' (and ONLY the ones using iron bases) can now accept wooden buttons in the crafting recipe as well as stone buttons.
- Legendary spawn notifications now include the coordinates of where the legendary spawned.
- Ultra Beasts now have a spawn notification only visible to the player nearest to the spawn.
- On first world join players will now recieve 1 healer, 1 pc, 1 stone pickaxe, 16 bread, 10 pokeballs, 5 great balls and 5 potions.
9.3.16.x.4+
- Vanilla villagers now spawn alongside Pixelmon villagers in villages.
9.3.16.x.5+
- Single-stage and first-stage Pokemon can spawn at any level. A range of 25 to 40 becomes 1 to 40. The maximum level does not change. This feature is off by default.
- Single-stage and first-stage Pokemon can spawn at all times of day. The /wiki command hides the time limit for these Pokemon, because the server no longer applies it. This feature is off by default.
- Fix: a player received the starter kit again after the player died and joined again. The mod now keeps the record through player death.
- Fix: the legendary notification showed a legendary that did not spawn. The mod now sends the notification only after the legendary is in the world.
- Fix: the legendary notification ignored the Pixelmon legendary announcement setting. If you turn the Pixelmon setting off, the mod stays quiet.
- Tweak: the config is much more legible and user friendly.
? No More Legendary Deja Vu ?
You know that feeling when you get a wild legendary spawn and it's Zacian or Zamazenta again like the last twenty times? This stops that.
The mod keeps track of the last few legendaries that actually spawned (3 by default, configurable up to 10) and won't let that same one show up again until it rolls off the list. If a spot only has one legendary that can spawn there anyway, it just lets it through instead of forcing nothing to spawn. It doesn't mess with the rarity odds either, it just rerolls in the background until it lands on something that isn't recent.
? Legendary Spawn Coordinates ?️
Pixelmon tells all players when a legendary spawns, but that message gives the biome only. The coordinates go to the server console, where players cannot read them.
This feature puts the coordinates in the message. The message shows the species, the biome, the X, Y and Z position, and the dimension. The mod does not add a second line. It replaces the Pixelmon message with one complete message.
The mod sends the message only after the legendary is in the world. If the spawn stops for any other reason, no message goes out. If you turn off legendary announcements in the Pixelmon config, this feature also stays quiet.
Config: doLegendaryCoordinates in the legendary_coords_broadcast section. It is on by default.
? Ultra Beast Warning ⚠️
Pixelmon does not mark Ultra Beasts as legendary. They spawn through the usual wild spawn system, and no message tells you. An Ultra Beast can appear near you and go away again, and you never know.
This feature sends a message to one player only: the player nearest to the spawn. The message reads: You feel a distorted presence... Nihilego is nearby...
The message does not give the coordinates. It tells you that an Ultra Beast is close, and you must find it.
Config: doUltraBeastNotification in the ultra_beast_alert section. It is on by default.
? PokeMart Cleanup ?
PokeMarts now sell the standard Poke Ball and Revives, and that's it. All other balls are gone. No more buying Quick Balls, Timer Balls and Great Balls and buying your way past actually playing Minecraft in order to catch things. Grow apricorns and go mining... the RIGHT way to play.
Prices for both are configurable, and it only touches shops that already sell Poke Balls, so daycares and move tutors are left alone.
? Better Chest Loot ?️
Arena and PokeMart chests had loot tables, but they're pretty awful. Another Big Malasada and Friend Ball lid? Great. Not anymore. This swaps them out for a curated tier list instead, Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, each with real weight behind it.
Roll counts and tier odds are all configurable, so you can make chests generous or make them rare finds, whatever fits your world.
?️ Raid Allies That Actually Help ⚔️
Solo raids hand you AI partners, and sometimes those partners are literally throwing a Maractus at a Heatran just to make sure you don't get to catch it.
This filters that pool before an ally gets picked. No first-stage Pokemon (has to be single-stage, middle, or fully evolved), no allies that are weak to the boss's type, and Base Stat Totals get matched close to yours and the boss's so you're not getting carried by a dead weight partner. If tightening the filters would leave you with zero allies, it backs off instead of breaking the raid.
? Healer & PC Drops ?
Break a Healer or PC without Silk Touch and instead of an aluminum ingot, you get proper Healer or PC Parts.
**PC Recipe using Parts + Dropped Item View:**
Craft it back into the machine whenever you want. Silk Touch still just gives you the block like normal.
? Wooden Buttons for Poke Balls ?
Six Poke Balls use an iron base in the crafting recipe: the Poke Ball, the Heal Ball, the Nest Ball, the Premier Ball, the Safari Ball and the Sport Ball. Each of these recipes needs a stone button.
This feature adds a second recipe for each of these six balls. The second recipe takes a wooden button of any wood type in place of the stone button. The first recipe still works, so you can use either button.
Balls that do not use an iron base do not change. The mod adds and removes these recipes live: change the config, then use the /reload command.
Config: doWoodenButtonsForIronBases in the wooden_button_recipes section. It is on by default.
? Starter Kit on First Join ?
A new player starts with nothing. This feature gives a small kit the first time a player joins the server.
The kit contains:
- 1 Red Healer
- 1 Red PC
- 1 stone pickaxe
- 16 bread
- 10 Poke Balls
- 5 Great Balls
- 5 Potions
The mod gives the kit one time only. The record stays with the player through a server restart and through player death. If the inventory of the player is full, the extra items drop at the feet of the player.
Config: doStarterKit in the starter_kit section. It is on by default.
?️ Vanilla Villagers in Villages ??
Pixelmon replaces each vanilla villager in a village with a Pixelmon NPC. The village then has Pixelmon NPCs, but no vanilla villagers. You cannot trade with a villager, because no villager is there.
This feature keeps the vanilla villager. The Pixelmon NPC still spawns in the same place, so the village has both. You get the Pixelmon trainers and the vanilla trades.
Wandering Traders and Zombie Villagers do not change. Pixelmon still replaces those.
Config: doSpawnVanillaVillagers in the village_npc_coexistence section. It is on by default.
? Low Level Spawns for Early Pokemon ?
This feature is off by default.
Pixelmon gives each spawn a minimum level. A Pokemon with a range of 25 to 40 never spawns below level 25. This makes it hard to raise these Pokemon through their own evolutions.
This feature removes the minimum level for two groups:
- Single-stage Pokemon. These Pokemon do not evolve. Tauros is an example.
- First-stage Pokemon. These Pokemon evolve, but no Pokemon evolves into them. Bulbasaur is an example.
For these two groups, a range of 25 to 40 becomes 1 to 40. The maximum level stays the same. Pokemon with a pre-evolution keep their minimum level, for example Ivysaur and Venusaur.
The feature changes the level only. The biome, the rarity and all other spawn conditions stay the same. Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast and Paradox Pokemon also keep their levels, but you can include them with a config option.
This feature is off by default. To use it, set enabled to true in the early_stage_level_unlock section.
? Spawns at All Times of Day ?
This feature is off by default.
Some Pokemon spawn at one time of day only. Hoothoot spawns at dusk and at night, and you cannot find one in the morning.
This feature removes the time of day limit for the same two groups: single-stage Pokemon and first-stage Pokemon. These Pokemon can then spawn at all hours. Pokemon with a pre-evolution keep their usual day and night limits.
All other spawn conditions stay in operation. The feature does not change the biome, the weather, the height, the light level or the structure. It changes when a Pokemon can spawn, not where. Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast and Paradox Pokemon keep their time limits, but you can include them with a config option.
The /wiki command agrees with the change. If the mod removes the time limit for a Pokemon, the Time line does not show in the Spawning area of /wiki. The wiki does not show a limit that the server no longer applies.
This feature is off by default. To use it, set enabled to true in the early_stage_time_unlock section.

❤️ Thanks to the Pixelmon team ?
None of this works without Pixelmon existing in the first place. The team behind it has put years into building and maintaining something this big and this polished, and I just get to tinker around the edges of it. Genuine thanks to everyone on the Pixelmon dev team for the work they've put in and for still supporting it. Go check out the base mod if you haven't.
