PVP Helper

A client-side combat awareness mod for Minecraft Fabric.

PVP Helper improves your combat awareness by visualizing information your client already receives from Minecraft. It does not add new items, require a server installation, or modify server-side gameplay. All features are shown through colors, outlines, and visual indicators instead of HUD text.

Features

Danger Crosshair

The vanilla crosshair changes color based on the current combat situation.

• White: no danger detected
• Green: target is within your melee reach
• Yellow: projectile threat detected or your own projectile is predicted to hit
• Red: melee danger, hostile AI targeting you, or explosive threat
• Orange: both melee and projectile danger at the same time

The crosshair keeps the vanilla texture and resource-pack compatibility while applying the color changes.

Entity Threat Outlines

Entities can be outlined depending on their current threat level:

• Red outline: entity can damage you, is targeting you, or is an immediate danger
• Yellow outline: projectile prediction shows a possible hit
• Cyan outline: manually tracked players

Outlines are based on real entity hitboxes and client-side information.

AI Target Detection

PVP Helper detects when mobs select you as their target.

Supported examples include:

• Zombies
• Skeletons
• Creepers
• Wardens
• Ravagers
• Vindicators
• Evokers
• Vexes
• Guardians
• Elder Guardians
• Ghasts
• Witches
• Blazes
• Phantoms
• Slimes
• Magma Cubes
• Wither Skeletons
• Zombie Villagers

Warnings happen as soon as the mob targets you, not only when it reaches melee range.

Projectile Prediction

Predicts dangerous projectiles using Minecraft-style physics:

Supported:

• Arrows
• Crossbow bolts
• Wither skulls
• Fireballs
• Other tracked projectiles

The system checks trajectory, movement, and collisions to determine whether a projectile is likely to hit.

Creeper & Explosion Warnings

• Detects ignited creepers
• Warns before explosions happen
• Detects TNT-related threats

Mace Prediction

Predicts mace smash attacks by checking:

• Recent mace usage
• Fall height
• Target position
• Landing trajectory

Warns when a smash attack could happen.

Player Tracking

Track specific players:

/pvphelper track <player> on/off

Features:

• Player-only tracking
• Supports normal capitalization
• Cyan outline indicator
• Line-of-sight checking

Friend System

Add trusted players who should not trigger threat warnings:

/pvphelper friend add <player>
/pvphelper friend remove <player>

Friends are ignored for:

• Melee threats
• Projectile threats
• Target detection

Developer/debug options available:

• Projectile trajectory visualization
• Block prediction markers
• Hitbox testing
• Performance timing
• Detection state information

Server Rules Warning

Important: Although PVP Helper is completely client-side and does not modify the server, some servers may consider features such as:

• entity threat outlines
• projectile prediction
• AI targeting detection
• combat awareness tools

to be similar to cheating or unfair advantages.

Always check the rules of the server you are playing on before using this mod.
