Sit on a Create seat to go AFK safely: mobs ignore you, you slowly heal and refill hunger, and phantoms and lightning leave you alone.

At a glance

• Hostile mobs stop noticing you once you've settled into a seat.
• Slowly regain health and hunger while you rest. A campfire or cake speeds it up.
• No phantoms spawn while you're seated.

• Go AFK and the HUD hides, the camera pulls back, and your hunger stops draining.
• Works on every Create seat. Server owners can tune or switch off each part.

Why I made this

You hop on a seat to wait out a build, alt-tab for two minutes, and come back to a creeper crater where you used to be. Seats are where you idle, so they should be the one place the night can't get you.

Setup

1. Place any Create seat.
2. Right-click it to sit down.
3. Wait about 10 seconds for the resting perks to kick in.
4. Stay still for a minute to drop into AFK mode.

How it works

• Mob safety kicks in after the same ~10 second settle-in as resting. Once it's active, hostile mobs won't pick a seated player as a new target. It won't shake a mob that's already chasing you, so sit down in peace.
• After roughly 10 seconds, you slowly regain health and hunger. Sit by a lit campfire and you heal faster, sit by a cake and you fill up faster. The cake is never eaten.
• Phantoms won't spawn over a seated player, and a seated player shrugs off lightning.
• The resting perks need a stationary seat. The safety perks still cover you on a moving contraption, so a train ride keeps the mobs and storms off your back.
• Take damage and the rest timer resets, so you can't heal your way through a fight. Standing up ends it too.
• AFK mode triggers after about a minute of no input: the HUD hides, the view turns third-person, and hunger stops draining. Any key, click, or look snaps everything back.

Nothing here is rebalanced for anyone else, and every timer and feature lives in the config.

Dev note

• Mob safety only blocks new targeting, it never wipes a mob's current target. That keeps a seat a calm spot to settle into rather than a panic button you slam mid-chase. Sit down before things go wrong, not after.
• Works with contraptions and stable sublevels.

• NeoForge 21.1.233 or newer, for Minecraft 1.21.1.
