⭐ So what does it do? ?
You know how you already know every Pokémon's ability by heart? This throws that out the window. Now your Bulbasaur might have Speed Boost. Your Caterpie might be sitting on Prankster. You don't know until you check.

Alright... I checked. It's not. ?♂️
It's not random chaos though; The config has prebalanced and modifiable settings, including a blacklist, so nothing is useless or bugged. It needs zero setup but you can mess with the config if you want to tweak stuff.
Singleplayer or server-side, this mod makes Pokémon have a little bit of flare and fun again.
? Two Randomization Modes ?
Pick your poison in the config:
-
Species-consistent (Mode 1, this is the default): Every species gets its own randomized ability pool, but it stays consistent. Same number of normal abilities it'd normally have, plus an HA if it's supposed to have one. Every Pidgey pulls from the same pool, and the whole evo line shares it too, so Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur all run off the one pool. Figure a species out once and that's it, at least until you roll a new world or delete the server config.
-
Fully random (Mode 2): Every single Pokémon rolls its own ability, species doesn't matter. Catch ten Rattata and you'll probably get ten different abilities. Each one is locked to that exact Pokémon forever and no changes will happen when you relog. If you use an ability capsule or patch on a Pokemon in mode 2, it recieves a new completely random ability different from the one it currently has.
? World-Based ?️
By default every world and server rolls its own random seed stored inside the save.
What that means:
- Abilities stick within a world. They won't drift or reset.
- Every new world and server is a totally different layout... so a fresh start actually feels fresh.
- If you want the same exact setup across a few worlds you can drop one fixed seed in the config and all worlds generated using it generate the same mapping.
⚖️ Random, but balanced! ?
Random isn't always broken. There are some guardrails configured by default so no Pokémon ends up with a dead or pointless ability:
- Signature abilities get filtered out. Stuff that's bound to one specific Pokémon (Stance Change, Zen Mode, Ice Face, Battle Bond, that kind of thing) or that literally does nothing on anyone else is excluded by default.
- Types are considered. This part isn't perfect yet, but right now you don't have to worry about getting something like Levitate on a Flying type, Flash Fire on a Fire type, Sap Sipper on a Grass type, etc. The combos that would be redundant are usually skipped. Work in progress.
- The blacklist is configurable. Don't want a certain ability showing up? Add it to the list. Every filter can be changed or completely turned off if you're crazy.
- Want to exclude some Pokemon? If you want your starters or maybe a specific legendary to keep their real ability, list them in the config and they won't get touched.
? HUD Display ?
Listen, in normal Pokemon you might not want to know the ability of the wild pokemon you're fighting. But in a randomizer? It's annoying to keep looking up what abilities the Pokemon might have.
In a normal wild single battle, a panel pops up next to the opponent's info box and tells you the wild Pokémon's ability. It's styled to match Pixelmon's own UI so it doesn't look weird.
It is never shown in trainer fights, doubles, raids, or hordes, so nothing gets spoiled.
? Search commands (both with tab-complete) so you're not confused: ?️
/abilityinfo <Pokémon>shows that Pokémon's full randomized ability pool, with each ability's in-game description and the HA clearly marked. It autocompletes names just like/wiki.

/abilityinfo <Ability>does the reverse. Type an ability and it lists every Pokémon that can roll it, with the hidden-ability slots flagged. Multi-word names and autofill work fine.

/randomizerhelpis just a quick rundown of what the mod does and how to use it.
? Nice and Easy Config: ?
The config is, uh, decently clean? And it's commented out.
Plus it fast reloads with Pixelmon's /pokereload command.
From there you can:
1. Swap randomization modes
2. Set or clear the fixed seed
3. Manage the blacklist and type restrictions
4. Leave specific Pokémon alone
5. Toggle the battle-HUD panel (and nudge where it sits)
6. Toggle the welcome message
You don't have to touch any of it to get going though. The defaults are already on and set up pretty nicely if I do say so myself. And I do. Sincerely, CCDelic. ?

❤️ Thanks to the Pixelmon team ?
None of this exists without Pixelmon. The team behind it has poured years into building and maintaining one of the most impressive mods out there, and this add-on just gets to play in the sandbox they built. Huge thanks to everyone on the Pixelmon dev team for their work and for keeping it alive all these years. Go check out the base mod and support what they do.
