The Dark Firework Rocket is a special firework rocket that never gets consumed. Whether you launch it from the ground, use it with an elytra, or fire it from a dispenser, the item stays in your inventory. It also supports three upgrade tiers that unlock longer.

The recipe requires the (vanilla) materials on the image ↑. Once crafted, the item starts at Upgrade Level 0 with a Flight Duration of 1.

To upgrade the Dark Firework Rocket, hold it in your main hand and a Netherite Ingot in your off-hand, then crouch and right-click. Each upgrade consumes one ingot (unless you are in Creative mode).

There are three upgrade levels:

• Level I — Unlocks the ability to change Flight Duration. Maximum duration: 3.
• Level II — Increases the maximum Flight Duration to 4.
• Level III — Increases the maximum Flight Duration to 6.

Without any upgrade, you cannot change the Flight Duration (Default [1]) and attempting to do so will show a warning.

Once you have at least Level I, crouch and right-click in the air (not on a block) to cycle through the available flight duration values. The current duration is shown in the item tooltip and in a hotbar message. Higher flight durations mean longer elytra boosts.

The Dark Firework Rocket works fully in dispensers. Place it, apply a redstone signal, and it fires repeatedly without ever running out. It launches in whichever direction the dispenser faces, including sideways or downward. Rockets fired from dispensers start at a higher speed than hand-launched ones — this is intentional.

You can also use it on the Target Block.

The Dark Firework Rocket works with crossbows; simply equip the Rocket in your off-hand (if you have others in your inventory), reload, and fire by right-clicking.
You can also use it on the Target Block.

Hold the Dark Firework Rocket while gliding and right-click to boost. The item is never consumed. Combine higher upgrade levels with longer flight durations to cover large distances with a single item.

The tooltip always shows your current upgrade level and active flight duration so you never have to guess the state of the item.
