Minecraft's movement, frankly, is kinda lame.

Inspired by a movement shooter that I'm actively developing, Aura's Better Movement is here to fix that! (or at least make it feel a lot less like you're piloting a very heavy shopping cart through molasses)

The Abilities

All abilities are disabled while you're in water or lava. No aquatic parkour (for now). Learn the basics first, then chain them together.

Aerodynamics

Hold Sprint while airborne to gradually accelerate in the direction you're looking. It's subtle, but it adds up, especially during a wavedash boost (see below), when you get a 3× speed multiplier.

Dash

How: While in the air, press Sneak to dash in the direction you're looking.

Cooldown: 2 seconds. A small icon below your crosshair fills back up when Dash is ready.

Tip: Hold Back while dashing to dash backward instead. Great for dramatic exits.

Double Jump

How: Leave the ground, then jump again in mid-air. You can trigger it two ways:

1. Release and re-press Jump after leaving the ground, or
2. Fall at least 2 blocks from where you left the ground, then press Jump.

Resource meter: Double jump uses a charge that recharges over time (~4 seconds for a full refill). Each jump costs half a bar. An icon below the crosshair shows your remaining charge.

Wavedash

How: Dash in the air, then land while looking down (roughly 60° or more, basically, stare at your feet like you dropped something). If you land within a short window after dashing, you trigger a wavedash boost for about 3 seconds.

What it does:

• Your crosshair changes to indicate the boost is active.
• Aerodynamics gets a 3× multiplier. You will go fast.
• Glide becomes available (see below).

Sound cue: You'll hear a distinct activation sound when it works. If you hear nothing, you mistimed it. Happens to everyone.

Tip: Dash -> look down -> land. Practice on flat ground before you try it over a ravine.

Glide

How: While your wavedash boost is active and you've recently used your double jump, press Jump in the air to start gliding.

What it does: You accelerate horizontally in your current movement direction (not where you're looking, where you're going). You also get a small upward nudge. Your crosshair changes while gliding.

To stop: Land, start elytra flying, touch water, or let go of Jump for more than a few ticks.

Tip: The full combo is the real flex: Dash -> Wavedash -> Double Jump → Glide. String it together and it'll feel like a completely different game.

Disclaimers and Stuff

This mod has zero progression. You are given the abilities straight off the bat. I'm planning on working on some sort of system, but it doesn't exist right now.

There is no way to toggle the abilities off. I cannnnn fix this, but like, why?

A lot of the logic is processed clientside with serverside validation only, since there were a lot of issues with my packet registry (namely that I have no idea what I'm doing), so you may come into a lot of issues with desync between client and server, especially when taking damage. There's unfortunately not much I can do about that right now.
