Colony Build Mode

Colony Build Mode is a server-authoritative MineColonies add-on designed to make building and managing your colony faster and more convenient without switching players into Creative mode.

Features

Survival Colony Flight

Authorized players can fly while inside their MineColonies colony boundaries.

• Players remain in Survival mode
• No Creative inventory
• No instant block breaking
• No invulnerability
• Flight is removed when leaving the colony
• Temporary fall-damage protection prevents unsafe landings
• Flight is reset correctly after death, logout, dimension changes, and server changes
• Colony permissions are checked server-side

Creative Colony Supply

The MineColonies Builder's Hut resource screen includes a Supply Colony button.

Only the colony owner can use this feature. It can:

• Generate currently required construction materials
• Supply food requested by cooks and other colonists
• Supply medicine requested by hospitals
• Supply tools, fuel, and regular item requests
• Fill requirements across the entire colony
• Skip requests that already have an active delivery
• Insert items directly into the appropriate building inventories
• Prevent repeated clicks from generating the same requirement multiple times

Generated items are never placed in the player's inventory. Supply actions are validated and logged by the server.

Convenient Hut Placement

Colony owners can obtain normal MineColonies hut items using:

/colonyhut <building>

The command supports tab completion.

Examples:

• /colonyhut kitchen
• /colonyhut hospital
• /colonyhut miner
• /colonyhut cook

These are genuine MineColonies hut items. Placing them uses the normal MineColonies preview, placement checks, and build-order system. Buildings are not constructed instantly.

Permissions and Security

Creative supply and hut-item access are restricted to the actual colony owner.

Flight access can be configured for:

• Colony owners
• Officers
• Players with a specified MineColonies permission

All important checks and inventory changes are performed server-side.

The server configuration includes options for:

• Enabling or disabling colony flight
• Flight boundary check interval
• Owner and officer flight permissions
• Custom MineColonies flight permission
• Fall-damage protection duration
• Builder and colony resource supply
• Creative hut-item access
• Enter and leave messages

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1
• NeoForge 21.1
• MineColonies 1.1.1349 or newer compatible version
• Java 21

MineColonies and its normal dependencies must be installed separately.

Installation

Install Colony Build Mode on both the client and the server.

The client installation is required for the MineColonies resource-screen extension.

Important

This mod intentionally includes an owner-only Creative supply feature. Server owners who want a more traditional Survival experience can disable the relevant features in the server configuration.
