Actually Faithful Steeds

This datapack removes the pesky problem of your beloved steed leaving you in the dust whenever you dismount for more than a second. This should work in multi-player.

How This Works:

When you dismount or remove a leash from your mount, they will gain a home position based on where it's standing at that moment. They will have their home position removed if they aren't wearing a saddle or other equipment.

Wander Distance:

If they have a saddle, then they will wander in an 8 block radius of their home position. If they have other equipment on but no saddle, then the mount will have a 16 block wander radius.

Strider:
A saddled strider has a wandering radius of only 2 blocks when warm and 16 blocks when cold. The wander radius will only change to 16 blocks if the player brings it out of the lava. The home position will update automatically once it's warm again.

Donkeys, mules, and llamas - if equipped with a chest:
These mounts will lose their home position if they are leashed and only have a chest equipped. You can't remove this chest in the base game, so you can still let these mobs wander a larger area if you choose.

Exact Wander Distances:

• Horse, Zombie Horse: 8 block radius (saddle) - 16 block radius (armor only)

• Pig, Skeleton Horse, Camel, Camel Husk: 8 block radius (saddle)

• Donkey, Mule: 8 block radius (saddle) - 16 block radius (chest, no leash)

• Llama, Trader Llama: 16 block radius (carpet) - 16 block radius (chest, no leash)

• Strider: 2 block radius (warm, saddle) - 16 block radius (cold, saddle, player intervention)

• Happy Ghast (base game): 32 block radius (harness) - 64 block raduis (no harness)

• Nautilus (base game): 16 block radius (saddle) - 32 block radius (no saddle)
