BetterThanMite

A hardcore Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.16.5 that makes the game truly punishing. If vanilla Minecraft feels too easy, this mod will change your mind.

Features

❤️ Health & Hunger

• 3 hearts base health — you start with only 6 HP instead of 20
• +1 heart every 5 XP levels — grind experience or stay fragile
• Hunger is tied to health — max hunger always equals max health. Gain a heart, gain hunger capacity. Lose hearts, and your hunger cap shrinks too
• Passive regen only when well-fed — you only regenerate health when hunger is at or near max, and it costs saturation/food to do so

🧟 Hostile Mobs

• 1.2× more hostile mob spawns at night — extra zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, endermen, witches, and slimes spawn near players in darkness
• Difficulty forced to Hard — always. No switching to Peaceful or Easy
• /difficulty command is blocked — you cannot change it

🐄 Passive Mobs

• 1.3× fewer passive mob spawns — animals are scarce, making food and resources harder to obtain

⛏️ Mining & Movement

• 1.5× slower mining — breaking blocks takes significantly longer
• 1.2× slower movement — you can't outrun danger as easily

💀 Damage & Drops

• 1.5× less damage dealt by the player — fights are harder and longer
• 1.5× fewer block drops — every resource matters, waste nothing

🦘 Jump Hunger

• Every jump costs 1 food point — spamming jump will starve you
• Jump hunger drain stops at 2 food points — you won't die from jumping alone, but you'll be too weak to sprint or regen

Installation

1. Install Fabric Loader for 1.16.5
2. Download Fabric API for 1.16.5
3. Place both BetterThanMite and Fabric API in your .minecraft/mods/ folder
4. Launch the game and prepare to suffer
