Bye Bye Chunk By Boltr

Bye Bye Chunk is a server-side Fabric mod that deletes chunks after players leave them.

When chunk deletion is enabled, the mod tracks player movement between chunks. Once a player exits a chunk, that chunk is scheduled for deletion and gradually replaced with air. This creates a challenge where the world disappears behind you, making backtracking dangerous or impossible.

Server-Side Mod

This mod is designed to run on the server. The chunk deletion logic is handled server-side, meaning players connecting to a server do not need to control the deletion behavior themselves.

For singleplayer, the mod still works normally because singleplayer worlds run an integrated server.

Safety Notice

This mod is intentionally destructive. Deleted chunks are replaced with air and the changes are saved to the world.

Do not test this mod on a world you care about unless you have a backup.

By default, chunk deletion starts OFF and must be manually enabled with:
