Instead of enforcing punishments, it records staff actions and presents a visible trust history that any player can view. This helps communities stay informed, organised, and fair without changing gameplay or replacing existing moderation tools.

Overview

VLT Scope provides a server-side trust history system for every player.
It records staff actions for transparency and accountability, without performing real moderation actions.

The plugin includes the following logging commands:

• /sgban — logs a ban event (does not ban)
• /sgwarn — logs a warning event (does not warn)

Players can view trust information using:

• /scope — displays trust score and recorded history

An optional Discord integration allows trust logs and trust reports to be viewed outside the game.

Update System & User Consent

VLT Scope includes an update notification and installation system designed to require explicit server administrator consent.

When an update is detected, the plugin does not install it automatically.
Instead, it sends an alert message every 5 minutes to server operators and users with the appropriate permission, notifying them that an update is available.

Updates are installed only when explicitly triggered by a server administrator using a command.

During the update process, clear progress messages are sent in chat.
Once the update completes, the plugin requests a server restart to apply changes.

If the server is not restarted manually, VLT Scope may restart the server up to 24 hours after the update, and only when no players are online, to ensure minimal disruption.

Permissions & Compatibility

VLT Scope is entirely server-side. Players do not need to install anything to join.

• Logging commands are restricted to server operators or permitted staff
• The update command is restricted to operators or users with the update permission
• The /scope command is available to all players and cannot be restricted

The plugin does not perform real bans, warnings, kicks, or enforcement actions.
It only records information and does not override permissions or moderation systems, ensuring broad compatibility with existing plugins.

Data Collection & Privacy

VLT Scope uploads logged trust events to a remote service for storage and retrieval.

Only the following data is transmitted:

• Player UUIDs
• Logged event type and reason
• Server identifier

No IP addresses, personal information, chat logs, or gameplay data are collected.

Remote logging and external integrations are configurable and can be enabled or disabled by the server administrator.
Data removal requests can be made by contacting the project owner.

Updates & Remote Content

All downloads and update actions require informed user consent.
No content is downloaded, installed, or replaced without explicit administrator action.
