Race to Spawn

? Introduction~~~~

Welcome to the R2S Speed Challenge! This is a fast-paced Minecraft minigame where players race against the clock to reach the finish line — Spawn.

Each challenger is randomly teleported into the world, equipped with powerful buffs, and must make their way to the finish as quickly as possible without cheating.

The system features independent timing, personal best tracking, anti-cheat detection, and a query button for checking your fastest time. It runs entirely on a vanilla Minecraft server (1.20.1+) with minimal setup.

? How to Play

1. Join the challenge
   Step on the starting pressure plate and click the blue [Confirm] button in chat.

2. Prepare your hotbar
   Your first hotbar slot will be automatically replaced with 16 ender pearls. Keep it empty before joining.

3. Start running
   You will be randomly teleported within a 5000‑block radius and receive:

   • Speed III (infinite duration, no particles)
   • Resistance V (complete immunity to all damage — you cannot die)
   • 16 ender pearls for quick traversal

4. Reach the finish
   Find and step on the ending pressure plate located at Spawn. Your completion time will be announced server‑wide in red and blue text.

5. Rules

   • Do not use /warp, /tpa, or any other teleport commands.
   • Do not step on emerald blocks — the system will instantly disqualify you and remove all effects.
   • Only players who have joined the challenge can trigger the finish. Bystanders stepping on the end plate will be ignored.

6. Check your best time
   Press the query button, or type /trigger r2s_showbest set 1.
   If you have a recorded time, it will be displayed. Otherwise, you will see “No records yet” in red.

? Server Setup Guide (for Admins)

Requirements

• Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1 (or a compatible version)
• Server access with permission to manage datapacks and command blocks
• No additional plugins are needed; everything works vanilla

Step 1 – Install the Datapack

1. Obtain the R2S-System.zip datapack.
2. Stop your server.
3. Navigate to your world folder (usually named world) and open the datapacks directory.
4. Place the R2S-System.zip (or the extracted R2S-System folder) inside.
5. Start the server.

Step 2 – Activate the System

1. Log in as an operator (OP).
2. Stand inside the chunk that will run the main loops (a small underground room is perfect).
   This chunk will be force‑loaded so the system works even when no one is nearby.
3. Run the following commands:

   /reload
   /function r2s:install

4. You will see a confirmation message. The scoreboards and force‑loaded chunk are now active.

Step 3 – Place Three Command Blocks (Manual)

Three command blocks must be placed by hand. Each one should be set to:

• Type: Impulse
• Condition: Unconditional
• Redstone: Needs Redstone

• Use stone pressure plates for both the start and the finish. Place them directly on top of the impulse command blocks.
• The query button can be a wooden or stone button attached to the side of its command block.

Step 4 – Verify the Setup

• Step on the starting plate → a blue [R2S] confirmation message appears. Click [Confirm].
• You should be randomly teleported and receive Speed III, Resistance V, and 16 pearls.
• Run to the ending plate (place it at spawn) and step on it → the server announces your finishing time.
• Press the query button → your personal best (or “No records yet”) is displayed.

Uninstalling

To completely remove the system, run as an operator:

/function r2s:uninstall

This deletes all scoreboards, tags, and the force‑loaded chunk. You can then safely delete the datapack and the three command blocks.

? Checking Your Best Time

Players can view their fastest run in two ways:

1. Query button – press it and click the [Query] button that appears in chat.
2. Manual command – type /trigger r2s_showbest set 1.

If no time has been recorded yet, the message “No records yet” will be shown in red.
