Animal Husbandry turns passive farm animals into a proper part of your world. Animals have care needs, genetics, traits, sickness, breeding control, and special interactions that make ranching feel closer to managing a real herd than babysitting a few mobs.

Overview

This mod adds a full animal-care system built around domestication, happiness, genetics, health, and advanced feeding. It is designed for players who want farming and animal breeding to have more depth, more personality, and more long-term progression.

Features

Domesticate animals by feeding them their preferred food.
 Track animal care over time with happiness, sickness, hunger,   dehydration, and grooming needs.

 Use the Brush to restore happiness and keep animals in good   condition.

 Cure sick animals with Animal Medicine.

 Check an animal’s genetics and care stats with the Magnifying   Glass.

 Open a more detailed animal report with the Farm Ledger.

 Use Fertility Potion to boost breeding readiness and improve   genetics for one breeding cycle.

 Breed animals with inherited genetics, including traits, color,   pattern, yield, fertility, growth, and constitution.

 Feed and water animals with Feeding Troughs.

 Give pigs a chance to hunt for truffles in the ground.

 Support multiple personality traits, including glutton, cuddly,   grumpy, energetic, and none.

 Add species-flavored behavior like improved yield, faster   growth, and trait-based bonuses.

 It also supports modpack creators through a configurable   gameplay system, so you can tune the experience for a hard   survival pack, a cozy farm-focused world, or something in   between.

Gameplay Highlights

Animals are not just decorative anymore. They can become domesticated, gain happiness from proper care, get sick if neglected, and respond to your management choices over time.

Pigs can dig for truffles on suitable blocks, and their behavior can change depending on their genetics and care state. Truffle hunting can also alter the ground, turning grass into dirt and dirt into coarse dirt.

Feeding troughs let you stock food and water for animals, so ranches can feel more automated and less repetitive.

Notes

This mod focuses on gameplay depth rather than one-off novelty items.
The balance is intentionally configurable so modpacks can decide how punishing or forgiving animal care should feel.
