Video games can only provide audiovisual sensory stimulation, not taste (at least for now). As a result, a large number of food items end up as mere milestones, novelties, or decorations. Taste Fatigue aims to encourage players to mass-produce a variety of staple foods, rather than relying solely on a single cost-effective option.

Each player has an independent consumption count for each type of food, which decays every 10 in-game minutes. Based on the current count, various configurable effects can be applied (eating speed multiplier, health restoration or deduction, hunger and saturation adjustments). When attempting to eat, a custom message and the current count will be displayed in the action bar, allowing you to choose which foods to bring before starting your journey.

Version 1.0.0 on NeoForge: more comprehensive configuration options and custom messages, with support for per-food overrides; a configurable saturation cap, allowing saturation to exceed hunger, with excess hunger converted into saturation at a configurable ratio, and compatibility with AppleSkin's saturation display; and an advancement.
