The story of "Lankeren" is an ancient Chinese tale. A young woodman encountered two immortals playing chess on the mountain when he was chopping firewood. After watching one game of chess, he astonishingly found that the handle of his axe has rotted, and when he went down the mountain, he realised that hundreds of years had passed——The world has changed.

AnimateCraft: Lankeren grasps the essence of the tale. The story takes place in a parallel existence of vanilla Minecraft. The player is a normal person in the ancient time, and was chopping wood in the forest until an allay showed up. When the player waked up, a long age has passed, and the Overworld has undergone a dramatic change. It has become a vast and expansive realm, with towering trees blocking out the sun, rolling plains, and canyons splitting the solid ground. Various mysterious creatures have returned to the surface, including giants, Zombie Knights, and Skeleton Horseback Archers...

As an ancient species, the allays were appointed by the Creators as guardians of the main world, and the recent activities of the illagers have made them uneasy. Pillagers have emerged from woodland mansions, expanding thoughout the world and re-activated the portals to another world - the Nether. The ancient forces that once tainted the Overworld have now resurfaced, only the player can stop them, save the Overworld, and eventually learn the Whole Story.

• Spawn with your mount friend and travel with them! (Each has their own strength)
• Fluent riding! through flat ground and water, no more interruption!
• Press "H" to make a horse whistle and call your mount friend, just like that in RDR2!

?️Marvelous biomes and structures to explore

• Vast land and luxuriant vegetation, bring spectacular natural landscape
• Overhauled plain village, which is one of my favorite works!
• Wandering trader's camp, where you can find useful tools like compass, maps and spyglass
• More original structures to make the game more immersive, includes undead castle, witch's wagon, and piglins' camp.
• Kung-fu Palace in the Cherry groves, where you can learn Kungfu“Golden Bell Shield”!
• Epic overhauled structures by Yung!
• Towns & towers in various biomes!

⚙️Interesting tweaks and new game mechanics

• Harder early game. Find materials to make the crafting table, and try your best to survive the first night.
• Cobble stone will not magically stick together on crafting table anymore, you’ll need to smelt cobbles into stones for crafting stone tools.
• Useful and reasonable crafting recipes, all in your green green recipe book.
• Neat biome-temperature system. find your way to cool down or keep warm on your travels!
• Do not go gentle into that good night! Sleeping is no longer easy, light a campfire if you can't sleep, it helps you to avoid the monsters.
• Farming should be more necessary! Harvesting now brings you experience, while food get spoiled after a day. (Just let your villager friends do the job, sow the seed and breed the animals)
• Build village buildings easily (currently only available in plains biome)! by buying the jigsaw block from lv.2 cleric, and Hold it in main hand and sneak to place it under your feet, then drop a station block on it to generate the corresponding building. Dropping a emerald will generate you a small house. drop a bell on the structure block, a whole village will generate immediately.
• Treat your villager gently, don't steal their properties or prison them, otherwise they’ll hate you. Save them from a raid and they will remember you!
• Dragon raid! the Ender dragon will randomly attack your village until you finish it in the end
• Hatch the dragon egg to get your dragon baby!
• More fun to discover by yourself
