About:
Hey Archer! This project is focused on enhancing Minecraft´s archery system. Currently, it adds four new ranged weapons from the medieval shooting game Narrow One, all of which with different peculiarities.
New Update!
Skeletons now can naturally spawn holding the new bows, fletcher villagers are also able to sell them, plus 5 brand new enchantments were added.
Bows:
Long Bow
- Higher range, speed and precision;
- Slower loading speed;
- Heavier (you walk slower while aiming when compared to the default bow);
- Greater base damage when compared to the default bow;
- Name it "Vanilla" if you want it to have an older look;
Short Bow
- Shots up to three arrows at once (the more you hold it, the more it loads);
- Shorter range and high spread;
- Faster loading speed;
- Lighter (you walk faster while aiming when compared to the default bow);
- Reduced base damage per arrow (it´s important to notice that entities cannot be hit by more than one projectile at the same time, so it´s better using it against multiple targets);
- Name it "Vanilla" if you want it to have an older look;
Light Crossbow
- Faster loading speed;
- Shorter range and reduced base damage when compared to the default crossbow;
- Very light (you aren´t slowed down while charging it);
- Charge it with fireworks to use it like a pistol!
Repeating Crossbow
- Loads up to 12 different projectiles at once, just keep pressing to fire;
- Slower loading speed;
- High fire rate;
- Shorter range and reduced base damage when compared to the default crossbow;
- Hover over it to show it´s next projectile and how many projectiles are loaded;
- Load it with some fireworks and enchant it with Quick Charge. Now you have a machine gun;
Enchantments:
1. Steady Draw (bows and crossbows): Movement speed becomes ~50% faster while loading (when compared to the loading speed without it);
2. Longshot (I, II and III, bows and crossbows): Shots from greater distances inflict more damage;
3. Chain Bolt (crossbows): Arrows are able to ricochet through targets;
4. Quickstring (I, II and III, bows): Loading speed becomes faster;
5. Deadeye (I, II and III, bows): Extra damage when you shot standing still;
Q&A:
1. Will this mod be ported for Fabric?
Probably not anytime soon.
2. Which Minecraft versions does this mod support?
Currently, only 1.20.1. Backporting to older versions is not planned.
3. Are the new ranged weapons balanced?
Yes, they are. I tried my best in balancing every aspect of each weapon when compared to the vanilla bow and crossbow. For example, besides longer charging time and greater weight, the Long Bow also has more range and base damage.
4. Are the new ranged weapons enchantable?
Yes, they are. All bows are compatible with bow enchantments (e.g., Power and Flame) and all crossbows with crossbow enchantments (e.g., Multishot and Quick Charge). Both also accept item enchantments, such as Unbreaking and Mending.
5. Are the new ranged weapons compatible with arrows from other mods?
Yes, they are. Every custom projectile which has the class ArrowItem works on both bows and crossbows. Tipped and Spectral Arrows also work on both, but Fireworks only work on crossbows.
