About

Grimwart is a datapack which aims at breathing new life into Minecraft's survival experience by adding a touch of magic. It brings tons of new features that ties into Minecraft core survival gameplay. And as everything in life, it's best experienced with friends !

Features

Spells and Wands

You can store spells inside of wands. Casting spells is useful in a lot of different scenarios, even outside of combat. Casting spells costs mana that regenerates overtime.

Trinkets

Items when equipped (by right-clicking) grants an unique passive ability. You can only equip one at a time but you can swap them depending on the situation.

Spectres

Little specs of light that spawn during night time. They give either XP, Spells or Trinket Boxes. The more of the moon is exposed the more spectres will spawn.

Flying Brooms

A new method of transportation, very popular among witches and wizards.

Item Delivery

Craft delivery boxes to send items to other players wherever they are in the world.

Waypoints

Waypoints store experience to generate an item called a Teleporter. When the teleporter is used, it restores your exp and teleports you (and other players close by) back to the waypoint. Note : You can't use waypoints to travel between dimensions.

Duel-O-Lanterns

Once two players place their bet inside a Duel-O-Lantern, a magic duel can start. Use spells, trinkets, invocations and any creative strategies that comes to your mind to get the advantage over your opponent. Winner takes all !

New Advancements

The Collection and Tutorial advancement tabs will tell you everything you need to know in order to get the full Grimwart experience. So try completing them !

Gamerules

Grimwart comes with default recommended gamerules automatically set when the datapack is installed. For example : keepInventory is set to true by default.
There are also custom gamerules you can use to customize your experience :

Use the following commands to change the custom gamerules, replace <0/1> by either 0 for false
or 1 for true

/scoreboard players set #fastCombat world.gamerules <0/1>

> Buffs the attack speed and reduce damage of all players to emulate 1.8 combat (false by default)

/scoreboard players set #dropExpOnDeath world.gamerules <0/1>

> Players drop their experience points on death even if keepInventory is active (true by default)

/scoreboard players set #spawnSpectres world.gamerules <0/1>

> Spectres spawn during night time (true by default)

/scoreboard players set #tutorialWand world.gamerules <0/1>

> Players are given a Tutorial Wand when joining the world for the first time (true by default)

/scoreboard players set #dailyLoginReward world.gamerules <0/1>

> Give players a reward to claim each day they log in but "function world:server/day" has to be run from the server scheduler (true by default)

/scoreboard players set #infiniteMagic world.gamerules <0/1>

> Infinite mana. Wands and spellbooks don't get damaged when used (false by default)

/scoreboard players set #removeTrinketsCooldowns world.gamerules <0/1>

> Trinkets have no cooldowns (false by default)

/scoreboard players set #useTnTAsSpell world.gamerules <0/1>

> TNT doesn't affect other blocks and inflicts magic damage upon explosion (true by default)

/scoreboard players set #disableDuelOLanterns world.gamerules <0/1>

> Disables Duel-O-Lanterns (false by default)

Installation

The Datapack and Resourcepack are both contained in the single download.
