Hider Plus

The all-in-one nametag hider, vanish & join/leave manager for Spigot & PaperMC.

✨ Features

?️ /hidetag — Nametag Hider

• Hides the nametag floating above your head from every other player.
• Replaces your name in the tab list, chat, and join/leave messages with a randomly generated alphanumeric name.
• The assigned hide-name is persisted by UUID, so the same player keeps the same hidden name across restarts and re-hides.
• Chat confirmation is sent on toggle.

? /vanish — Full Vanish

• Makes you completely invisible to all other players — no ghost, no tab entry, no floating name.
• Sends a fake leave message when you vanish and a fake join message when you un-vanish, so it looks seamless to everyone else.
• If /hidetag is also active, fake messages use your random name instead of your real one.
• Respects /hidejoinleave — when that is active, no fake messages are sent at all.
• Players with hiderplus.seevanished permission can still see you.
• Automatically re-applied after death/respawn and world changes.
• New joiners automatically have all currently-vanished players hidden from them.

? /hidejoinleave — Join/Leave Suppressor

• Completely suppresses your join and leave messages — including the fake ones from /vanish.
• Pairs with /vanish for a fully silent entry and exit.

? Other-Plugin Compatibility

Join/leave events are handled at HIGH priority, so plugins like EssentialsX, CMI, DeluxeChat, and AuthMe set their custom formats first. Hider Plus then:

1. Reads the message already set by those plugins.
2. If /hidetag is active, replaces only the player-name portion with the random name — preserving the full custom format.
3. If the player is vanished or using /hidejoinleave, silently suppresses the message without touching other plugin logic.

Your existing chat plugins' formats are never overwritten — only mutated or silenced as needed.

⌨️ Commands & Permissions

? Installation

1. Download HiderPlus-1.4.jar.
2. Drop it into your server's plugins/ folder.
3. Restart your server (do not use /reload).
4. All commands are immediately available to OPs. Use a permissions plugin (LuckPerms, etc.) to grant access to non-OPs.

v1.4 — Persistent hide names

• /hidetag now assigns a full random display name instead of a symbol prefix
• Assigned names are stored by UUID and reused after restart or re-hide
• /vanish and /hidejoinleave still work with custom join/leave formats
• Maintains compatibility with other chat and join/leave plugins
• Scoreboard team-based nametag hiding without packet hacks
