Your friends tell you of this game called Minecraft, you've never played it before, but it interests you enough to go check it out. The price of the game is a little daunting however, and as a kid, you don't want to bother your parents about it. You decide to go into some 'deeper' corners of the internet to get your hands on a free copy instead, but something is wrong. The game doesn't look quite right, the lights are off, some of the items and blocks are different. But you decide to give it a try anyway.

Paranomium adds content to make the experience more difficult. Hostile mobs are significantly stronger, with rare, yet more powerful variations you'll need to adapt to. You'll find some new structures around your world as well, some will reward you, and some will harm you. And with caving becoming one of the most difficult tasks, you'll need to bring plenty of torches in order to see. The level of difficulty is best experienced in Hard mode. REMEMBER, this is a HORROR modpack! You are likely to feel uneasy at least, and terrified at most. The gameplay experience is designed to keep you on your toes.

Quite a few settings are changed by default, and these provide the intended experience. You may of course change the game settings if you wish, especially if you find them hindering your experience.

Essential comes with this modpack, but it's not enabled by default. Search for Essential inside of the mod list once you install the pack, and enable it if you'd like to use it to play with friends. If you've never used Essential, a player may use it to host a world, and their friends can connect to it.
