Firmament Mod Announce Remover

What?

Disables Firmament's Mod Announcer feature, which sends the server a list of every mod you are using. Previously also fixed log spam whenever a painting item gets rendered.

Why?

This mod was originally created as the initial implementation of Firm's packet could lead to sending a packet too large for the server to handle, and therefore forcing a client disconnect. This has now been fixed by Firmament, and the packet simply does not send if it is too large.

However, I still consider this feature to be a massive privacy breach as it provides another way to fingerprint users, and also completely useless in the first place. Hypixel is unlikely to use a random packet sent by a random mod to determine whether to ban users. They had already stopped this practice during the Forge days with the forge handshake. When they did ban for mod ids, it was incredibly easy to create a mod with a known banned mod id or change an existing mod's id to share with unsuspecting people and get them banned. For this reason, I consider this method of checking for cheaters useless at best and actively harmful at worst.

This packet is not required for any features to work, Firmament still functions as normal.

Cheating

I do not condone cheating. This mod was made well before any cheat modules existed, and my reasons for removing this check are entirely unrelated. If the only way you can have fun in a game is by cheating, it's time to find a new game :)
